JUNIOR CHURCH:
|
Junior Church runs during part of the regular worship service and provides kids with an opportunity to interact in a safe, nurturing, and well supervised environment. Classes are divided by grades. Children stay upstairs in the sanctuary throughout announcements and part of the praise and worship, then leave for Children's Church after the children's message, which is given by Pastor Bill's wife, Debbie Johnson, who uses simple and memorable illustrations to fix important Biblical principles in the kids (and adults!) minds. |
NURSERY:
Nursery is available for children up to three years old. There are always at least on adult and two teenage staff on hand to ensure that your child is well cared for. Babies and toddlers are, however, more than welcome to attend the worship service with their parents. Our nursery is also equipped with space for nursing mothers. |

Fall Alpha begins September 14th! |
Pittsfield First Baptist is a sponsor of the Alpha course. Alpha is designed to create a non-threatening and welcoming environment in which to introduce people to the Christian faith. The Alpha course runs for 10 to 11 weeks and is concluded with an overnight retreat. A typical Alpha evening consists of a meal with dessert, a short talk and finishes with a small group time in which participants can feel free to express their opinions and ask questions about the topic addressed that evening. Topics include Who Is Jesus?, Why Did He Die?, How Can I Be Sure of My Faith?,Why and How Do I Read the Bible?, Why and How Do I Pray?, Who Is the Holy Spirit?, and more. THE MARRIAGE COURSE:
We also offer the Alpha Marriage Course. This course affords participants the opportunity to have a romantic candle lit night out and provides couples with tools to enhance their marriage. The marriage course is for any married couple who wants to build strong foundations for a healthy marriage that will last a lifetime!

BIBLE STUDIES:
Currently, there is also a Unity Bible study which meets weekly on Monday nights at 7:00 (no, you don't have to live in Unity in order to attend!). |
YOUTH ACTIVITIES:
Our youth meet on Wednesday evenings for fun and fellowship. This spring they attended a retreat in New Hampshire. Contact the church office for details. |

FAITHFUL MEN:
Currently our men are currently studying the book of Proverbs. They meet at 7:00 in the choir room. |
WOMEN’S MINISTRIES:
Our women meet several times a week for prayer, both at the church building and in private homes. Currrently they are studying the armor of God at Sue Chase's home on Monday evenings at 6:30. |

Awana is a worldwide youth and children’s ministry serving more than 90 denominations, and has been the premiere children’s and youth ministry for more than 50 years. Awana meetings are a time filled with energy, fellowship and spiritual growth. Your child will have fun and also hear the gospel. This season's Alpha begins on October 8th. •Equipping Workshops taught by Pastor Bill:
These are one night workshops that will address basic knowledge and practices in differing areas of spiritual discipline and ministry skill. The evenings themselves will be general overviews. Each of them has the potential to eventually be turned into a study group, either by the participants or by the participants and the instructor. Participants will be taken through the principles that must be addressed in each of these fields, and be pointed to the most helpful resources for self-study and group study.
